Talent komt altijd bovendrijven, wordt gezegd. Maar soms komt het wel heel plots aan de oppervlakte, zoals in het geval van Jasper Posson. Deze sympathieke Antwerpenaar haalde jaren geleden als student weleens de pers als preses en woordvoerder van zijn studentenkring, maar kwam als comedian pas in onlangs bovendrijven als primus van de Lunatic Comedy Award 2017. Met illustere voorgangers als Gunter Lamoot, Lieven Scheire, Philippe Geubels, Lukas Lelie en Jens Dendoncker verkeert de volgens sommigen grappigste ambtenaar van Vlaanderen – anderen hebben het dan weer over de énige grappige ambtenaar – als laureaat alleszins in roemrijk gezelschap.
Dat belooft dus voor de toekomst, want ook al timmert Jaspen Posson sinds 2014 aan de comedyweg en verzorgde hij als halve finalist van andere bekende comedywedstrijden zoals Culture Comedy Award en de Radio 2 Humorklas al het voorprogramma van onder anderen Bas Birker en Steven Mahieu, de deur naar het grote publiek staat nu wijd open. Zijn strafste troef: een batterij scherpe observaties waarmee hij nietsontziend aan de slag gaat. Verzuurde politici, romantiekloze zee-otters en Antwerpenaren die zichzelf te serieus nemen: hij haalt ze allemaal even vlotjes door de mangel.

Original, provocative and exceptionally prolific – Baptiste is already being hailed as one of the most exciting acts to break in years. The London born stand up made comedy history in 2014 as the first black British act to be nominated for a Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He had incredible success with his debut stand up show Citizen Dane, completing two sold out runs at London’s Soho Theatre (with additional dates added due to phenomenal demand). He has since written and starred in his own BBC sitcom series and made numerous other TV and radio appearances. His second stand up show Reasonable Doubts was met with sold out audiences and huge critical acclaim at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe, with his first nationwide solo tour following in 2016. In 2017, he presented his third stand up hour G.O.D. (Gold. Oil. Drugs.) about our worldwide pursuit of wealth, power and pleasure which achieved another total sell out run.
