With Phil Nichol (CAN) and Riku Suokas (FIN)
Lebowski’s is a new and supercosy comedy bar in Antwerp. On a regular base, you’ll be able to see up-and-coming international talent bringing some much needed international comedy to a world city like Antwerp during our English Comedy Nights. For this 7th edition – 7th, you say?! Well yes, times flies when you’re having fun! – we’ve brought over Phil Nichol and Rika Suokas to treat you to some of their finest jokes.
With Phil Nichol we’re actually inviting a jack of all stage-trades. Since a very young age Phil juggles his time between musical, theatre, music and of course… comedy. He has by now gathered an impressive resume (including a 20(!) year career at the Edinburgh Fringe) and will certainly not disappoint live at Lebowski’s as well. With visits to Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The Graham Norton Show and his own podcast series Zen with Mike Wilmot, he promises to bring a contemporary and energetic set. And he might bring some of his alter egos: the moody beat poet Bobby Slade, or Theatrical Phil, or maybe even Gay Phil…
Remember when we promised you we would roam the outskirts of the entire world in search of mighty funny comedians for you? Well, about that. Our following guest, Riku Suokas, will be flown over straight from Finland. Viileä huh! This lovable chap will bring genuine and funny jokes in his carry-on luggage, and he promised to do so in English. Which is a little bit of a pity even, if you know that the Finnish word for comedian is koomikko.
