Well worth the wait
When we booked our tickets way back in December 2015, last night seemed a lifetime away… but Russell certainly proved that all good things come to those who wait. We had a wonderful evening, Russell was on fire – and that’s not even taking into account the current heatwave. I’ve been a fan of his work for many years now, not just because Russell is outrageously funny, but because he has such a big heart, and throughout his career has steered clear from the kind of cynicism and acidity some other comedians let slip into their acts: he can still get genuinely worked up about social injustice and the state of the world, but he responds to it with hope, love, kindness, compassion and enchanting silliness.
